I was a little skeptical about Kumi Koda’s singing prowess before, I thought her voice wasn’t original for she kind-a like sounded like some j pop artist like Namie Amuro and etc.
By the way the first song that I’ve heard her sing was the song “But” which I saw and heard on youtube. But since I find her so interesting I thought that maybe I should give her songs a try, so I downloaded some of her songs and started listening… To my surprise her songs were good! FYI I have known Koda for quite sometime now and it is only this year that I decided to give this girl’s music a try…
Since their that good, I’ve decided to write something about it… Let’s say a music review from Lutykuh (it rhyme’s!, hehehe). And I apologize if my review is not her latest song or PV but better late than never they say, hehehe… These are just some of her songs from different albums which caught my short attention span.
24 ~ is a very smooth and sensual song. This song makes me imagine that I want to be with my man 24 hours and he is like so far away. It makes want to sing the song but I don’t understand Japanese so I just sing along on the chorus part, hehehe. I love listening to this song over and over and over again. By the way I was amazed by Koda’s English diction, their not that bad for a Japanese you know.
Come Over ~ this is a feel good music which reminds me of Christina Aguilera’s Come On Over, hmmn maybe the title but I think the beat is some what the same and it also reminds me of Mariah Carey’s song entitled Loverboy , right? Try to listen to those songs and you’ll notice the similarities. Anyway the song is cute…
Switch ~ I love the urban beat of the song it makes me want to dance it reminds me of disco dance floors and just groovin’. The only flaw for this song for me is that I sometimes find it hard to distinguish Koda’s voice from Lisa’s (you see, her voice ain’t unique!). And in fairness I was amazed by the rappin’ girls, not really bad I like it…
Chase ~ another feel good song from her. I thought she was saying daddy, to my surprise it was “darling” well I guess her english improved gradually well good for her. I love the saxophone accompaniment.
Real Emotion ~ Well what can I do for you Kumi Koda? You’re attempt of singing the song almost in english is not really that good I can hear you, you know?. I’m sorry it’s, my real emotion that’s speaking. I just understood some few verses epecially the fist one and the chorus. What do I do now? What can I do now? Well the song is catchy so I appreciated it!
To sum it all up the songs we’re all good…There we’re just some flaws to it especially the diction but I’ve just considered it for she is Japanese. I’ve heard worse from other Japanese singers and so far she’s the best.
That’s it for now I’ve got nothing much to say , my brain is draining…
And if you have some songs that you think that is worth listening from Koda please do let me know…
